Experience

Switzerland

The landlocked country of Central Europe, Switzerland is famous for a  multitude of reasons. Although she presents many different facets like the swiss chocolates, cuckoo clocks, contemporary cities, the prettiest is her Alpine nature.

Alps is Switzerland’s beauty. No wonder it tops so many travellers’ bucket lists. For some of us it was Heidi (cartoon), for some it was Bollywood movies and for the rest it was the Swiss Tourism unveiling interesting facets through ad campaigns, providing the wanderlust to witness Swiss Alps. It is one thing to know about something like this, but entirely another to witness it. Switzerland is worth every penny you spend on it.

Mt.Titlis :

Located about  3,238 metres above sea level, Mt.Titlis is one of those salubrious places they always talk about. Visitors come to witness the stunning icy peaks, glaciers and the fun which the fairy white snow offers. Don’t miss the cliff walk that mildly races your heartbeat.

Your guide to reach Mt.Titlis: Take the train from Lucerne to reach Engelberg station. From here, you can take a bus to the 8 seater Cable car that takes you to Mt.Titlis.

Jungfrau :

Located about 4,158 metres above sea level, Mt.Jungfrau is Switzerland's most popular peak. A fine way to see Jungfrau is to take the train from Interlaken to Jungfraujoch, the highest train station in Europe, commonly called the Top of Europe.

Your guide to reaching Jungfrau:

Most people start their journey to Jungfrau from Interlaken. From this point, 3 trains are to be taken to get to the Top of Europe. There are two routes available from Interlaken Ost Station,  either travel via Lauterbrunnen or via Grindelwald. Upon arrival at Lauterbrunnen or Grindelwald, change to a cogwheel train heading towards Kleine Scheidegg. From Kleine Scheidegg, the Jungfraubahn trains go through the mountain to Jungfraujoch-Top of Europe station. The last leg of the route takes 50 minutes and the trains stop twice at special viewing points inside the tunnel to allow passengers to get off for a few minutes of sightseeing.

Route: ( Interlaken Ost station -Lauterbrunnen /Grindelwald station - Kleine Scheidegg station -Jungfraujoch station) From  Interlaken Ost station, it takes about 2 hours to reach the top of Europe.

Lucerne :

Lucerne, a small city in Switzerland is famous for a multitude of reasons - Quaint deep blue lakes basked with mystic mountains as a backdrop, its heritage old towns lined with beautiful bridges hugging serene waterfronts and the cherry on top, the colourful houses.

Zurich :

Zurich, the largest city in the country - is all things wonderful and this is where you foray to discover the rest of Switzerland. The city is something of a two-sided coin that’s culturally vibrant at every turn and also revealing a striking modern touch. The party people flock to West Zurich where the city lights are strong and have an active nightlife. Zurich is an epicentre of Gastronomy, where you’ll dive into a sea of restaurants.
