Ancient Marvels of Jordan
History comes to life as you follow in the footsteps of Roman emperors, Bedouins, and prophets. Created in the Bronze Age, Jerash has been inhabited for more than 6500 years. In Amman, the ancient citadel stands commanding over the city, while Madaba is famous for its, Byzantine era mosaics. A must visit sight to get an insight into the mosaic art is The Church of St. George, a small yet beautiful church. The very interesting thing about the temple is that all the pictures are made of mosaics. See where the baptism of Jesus reputedly took place at Bethany Beyond the Jordan, or where Moses stood on Mount Nebo, looking at the Promised Land.
